Hello and welcome! I believe the most important element of therapy is therapeutic rapport. I approach each client in a strengths based way, ensuring your comfort and empowering you to reach the goals YOU set for yourself. I’m committed to empowering you to overcome social conditioning, triumph over life’s challenges, and transform the self-critical thoughts that stress you out and undermine your confidence. I utilize many Evidence Based methods, including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and DBT, all through a trauma based, ecological, and culturally competent lens.
A little about me: I have a blended, interracial family and they are a huge source of support and love for me. I understand the complexity of balancing the many roles of being a mother and professional within the context of a white patriarchal and capitalist society. I am deeply spiritual, but not religious. I meditate daily and my professional mantra is "My healing is your healing is my healing is yours..." I try to live by the principle of Boddichitta, which is the compassionate wish to alleviate the suffering of mankind. I try to practice this through noticing my own suffering and then praying for those who are suffering i ln a similar situation, but worse. This practice frees me to see the ways in which we are all interconnected, which is a huge part of what I desire for my clients to see and experience, in order that we can individually and collectively heal.
