Therapy with Katelin
My approach to counseling is client-centered; I work with you to create the best-fit treatment to your needs. I work with adults, adolescents, and children on a variety of issues. Our goal together will be to help you feel more in tune with yourself and navigate life with a healthy perspective.
I have been providing therapy services since 2017. Prior to private practice, I worked with families involved in the child welfare system who have experienced abuse, neglect, addiction, sexual trauma and community violence. I am proud of you for starting this journey for yourself, whether that is with me or another provider.
I am trained in the use of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as well as Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). I also have certification in the treatment of youth who have caused sexual harm through IN-AJSOP. I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and incorporate mindfulness and building of coping skills for everyone.
Background & Fun Info
A bit of background on my path to here. I have wanted to be a therapist since 8th grade. I actually have an academic paper from Careers class in middle school describing how I could become a psychologist. I took as many Psychology classes as I could in high school. Attended Anderson University (2015) with a Bachelors in both Psychology and Sociology. Then finished, for now, with my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ball State University (2017).
